It’s a great little article written by a great sound engineer about setting up a home recording studio.
Also, You should consider joining an audio community like http://www.audioneeds.com – Forums are great because they’re free and there are tons of people there willing to help guide you toward your path. The one I mentioned is small community of great engineers, and they’re all helpful and welcome questions. I think it should help you a lot.
