Is it possible to change instruments in mp3 or wav like FLStudio 9 changes instruments in midi?

I want to know if it’s possible to do this. Like using soundfonts and changing the instruments in mp3′s or wav’s because apparently, it’s nearly impossible to convert correctly mp3 or wav to midi, and I really want to edit some mp3 or wav files. I tried looking online for the ones i want, but they are nowhere in site. Or is there a program that you can use to edit mp3 or wav instruments? Which I doubt there is.
OR is it possible to extract single instruments from mp3′s or wav’s and then combine them togethor to form a midi?

No, a MP3 unfortunately has every sound mashed together into one big one. Besides removing low and high pitched sounds it’s unfortunately impossible to do perfectly at a home computer.

ok so here I am making beat on my keyboard and came across “Cosmic sound” which is kindof like the sound used for the X-files theme sound so I am on fl studio now trying to find that same sound. Now i know what you are thinking why not connect the keyboard to fl and transfer files…welll I dont have a midi controller or whateva so I was wondering is there any place in fl studi 9 to get the cosmic sound. I have the vst hypersonic but I dont think there is a instrument with that sound…any adive tips ideas??? thank you.

im a beginner in making music and using the computer keyboard to program notes is a nightmare. ideally a 61key synth (maybe too many keys but im a fast learner?) sounds good. thanks in advance for any answers

61key for that much guarantees a buy from eBay.
I would go for a Roland SH-201:

Lot’s of keys

If you can’t find them for a cheap price you might have to reduce the amount of keys on the synth, or use a midi controller and a pc instead of a hardware synth.

My buddy got me interested in making music and using computer programs to do so. I am a beginner and I don’t plan on becoming a DJ but this will be a hobby. Ive got the computers and I’m all set to get started but I need to figure out which software to buy. The new Sonar 8 and Fl Studio 8 xxl are about the same price, so which one would be better for a beginner who is looking to do more house/hip-hop than anything else. Also, I found the older version (Fl Studio xxl7) for way cheaper, should I save some money and get that instead?

Do you like working with loops better (FLStudio) or recording in instruments track by track better (Sonar) ?
Both programs can work either way, but FLStudio started life as a loop composition program (FruityLoops)
Hit the library and read up in backissues of magazines — Sound on Sound, Electronic Musician, Recording, Keyboard, FutureMusic, Computer Music, MIX, EQ. They often have how-to articles and comparative reviews of software, mics and interfaces.
Also search the net – there are lots of forums with information on computer recording.

Hey I just downloaded fl studio 8 and man it is pretty confusing with those buttons, i tried to watch youtube videos, but they didn’t help…
So when I tried to record my voice I selected asio driver bla bla bla, then selected input mic1-mic2 and then output speakers 1-2
then bam… a very loud screeching noise comes out all them time…
So I tried to put none on the output and record my voice and do vice versa when I hear my voice
and tried auto tune with it but it did not work
I have antares auto tune…
Can anyone like teach me step by step for this?
please I really need your help…
