Q&A: Stretching Audio (Preserving Pitch) in Ableton Intro?

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Question by remminycricket: Stretching Audio (Preserving Pitch) in Ableton Intro?
I’ve been trying to learn DAW’s (through trials) and pick one to buy. Right now I’m going through ACID. Next I want to try Ableton, Intro looks like it can do everything I need, but can it stretch audio while preserving the pitch?

I read on a site that “Complex” and “Complex Pro” Warp Mode is not included in intro. Can I still stretch audio while preserving pitch? Or is that only featured in complex warp mode?

Thanks!

This isn’t the exact answer to your question but I use

http://www.ronimusic.com/

when I need to slow down a song but keep the same pitch when I play my Bass. Maybe that helps.

http://www.goldwave.com/

does that also but not as well as TASD I listed first.

A very in depth question. But you are aware that Ableton can work as a Plugin for pro tools right? :) You could have both.

Talk to some of the pros, ask them for their opinions: http://www.audioneeds.com
