Monday, August 15th, 2011
www.boyinaband.com – head over to my website to see the text version of the tutorial, grab some samples and check out my other blogs and tutorials! And http for the forum (Shocking, right?) Facebook and Twitter: www.twitter.com www.facebook.com Samples from: www.primeloops.com (Yes, I get paid when you buy things from there if you use this link – but I only use their samples because I think they’re good.) This Reason 5 Tutorial is geared towards people exploring the dirtier and more powerful style of Dubstep, along the lines of Nero, Excision and Skrillex. If you use fruity loops or garage band or logic, protools, ableton or any other DAW I’m sure you’ll find something in here you can learn from, since I try to explain *why* I do things rather than just *what* I do! ![]()

Kontakt is a good software sampler. It’s pretty inexpensive these days as well. I use that for basic sampling, and then use Sonar to create the actual drum loops. You can find plenty of free drum loops on the internet as well, and use a program called ReCycle to cut them up into their individual, respective pieces for resampling.
