I think it’s great what they are doing. But how do they make money off of it? I know they can upload it to itunes or youtube as a sample and interested people can just buy it off for $ .99. But what are some other ways you can make money by making singles on your computer?

Anyone can upload any rubbish to youtube, and 99% of it is exactly that.

I do this, it goes through paypal most of the time.
there is a LOT of ways to make money through computer.
buy websites, sell for higher.
Make ebay account, sell stuff you dont need. or buy low sell high.

MYSPACE MUSIC IS NOW PAYING Artists…per play. It’s not much per play but it adds up….just like spotify, napster, etc. Get your copyrights & publishing in order.
I don’t know how they’re doing it exactly but a producer I know saw a payment in his account and thinks its from others adding his song and streaming it. The big labels fought for that 4 years ago.

there’s alot you can do with fruity loops already it would be good to get some recording software to go along with it then you can add effects, cut and paste different parts you want together and to add vocals if need be for it to sound professional. good luck!

I’m writing a novel, I’m nearly finished. I’m probably submitting it to DAW Books. I know Stephen King got $ 200,000 for his first novel, but I’m no Stephen King! So, roughly, what should I expect? And is DAW a good place to start?

Oh boy. Do you have an agent? If not, you will probably spend months if not years in the slush pile before being rejected like 95% of the other manuscripts in the slush pile.
